Our Story

Chef John Leonetti, his wife Jill, and baby chef Henryk want to take a moment to welcome you! Our menu changes seasonally and is made from scratch.  We prepare everything fresh to order, and feature as many local and sustainably sourced ingredients as possible.

With a little over 14 years in the culinary industry John is still passionate about sharing his love for food, and new flavor profiles with you. Many of his recipes have been perfected over the years with Jill painstakingly trying them out (someone had to take one for the team). John trained at the Le Cordon Bleu academy in Portland, Oregon and has spent time as a Sous Chef at the Reserve Vineyard in Portland, the Eugene Country Club, and the Peppermill Casino in Reno.  Prior to opening Prohibition, John operated a small catering company here in Spokane.

Though some days are tough, you are seeing his dream born into reality.

Prohibition is a community minded business that employs and trains individuals with disabilities, students, and minors. Every drink and meal you order helps our employees earn a living and learn valuable job skills. We firmly believe hate has no business here and welcome friends new and old.

We believe in paying it forward with our Bee’s Knees program. Our program has provided thousands of meals for those less fortunate in our community since inception.  Ask one of our staff members about the Bee’s Knees and how you can get involved to support the Spokane community.

We love to hear directly from our customers and welcome your feedback.  Please reach out to:  prohibition.gastropub.spokane@gmail.com
